Has anyone made one of these? My DF and I were going to, but he passed away
before we could get it figured out. I want to make (at least) one for my
DSIL for Christmas, but might need to be asking "dumb" questions (easier to
handle than dumb mistakes.)

TIA

There was an article in a copy of SpinOff 6/7 years ago detailing how to
build a swift using yardsticks or paint stirring sticks. Shouldn't be
too difficult to find instructions on the Interwebs if you don't already
have them...

I've had to re-tie my Glimakra swift because the cotton twine wears out.
The trick seems to be in making sure the ends of the sticks are
aligned before you tie them off. I'd guess using a drill press and
drilling as many sticks at once as you can will aid in that.
