In case of any of you is planning to use the pattern for the Crosspatch
hat from the Knitty website, I wrote to the designer that I thought
there was a small glitch in the pattern, and she found that there is.
She's going to notify Knitty about it.

As written at this moment, the mosaic pattern is followed by two purl
rounds in the contrast color. The designer, Elizabeth Morrison, told me
that one knit round in the contrast color should have come before the
two purl rounds. The result of the omission is that an extra stripe in
the main color comes to the right side within what should have been a
solid contrast color band. It happens to look good anyway, except for
one discontinuity where the rounds end. It's hardly noticeable, and
since the hat has no particular front, the flaw can be worn toward the back.

Thanks for letting us know. I like the shape of that hat.

Or one can use the jogless in-the-round color change and have no such
discontinuity at all.

Oh, thanks, I hadn't known about that! This was my first project in the
round with more than one color. I don't see any other discontinuities,
but that might be because everything up that point was in garter stitch
and everything after was a solid color.
