Hi

Wanted to wish everyone a good Sunday morning. It's 10:30 here and
it's suppose to be nice and sunny.

Today I think I will be spending most of my day inside as I ended up
getting a sunburn yesterday even with suntan lotion on. We spent a day
near Lake Ontario and of course the reflection of the sun on the water
meant I got more than I figured.

I guess today is going to be a crocheting day but I'm not going to
complain.

Hope everyone else has a safe and good Sunday.

Take care
Darlene

LOL After three weeks of heat, I won't be saying "nice" and "sunny" in the
same sentence for a while! I got home yesterday, and am really glad to be
here.
While traveling, I did the sides of a vest and started the back. I also did
the body for one of Jean Greenhowe's dolls, so the heat didn't enterfere too
much with my knitting.

Higs,
Katherine

I just pulled my first shot so I'm sipping a cappucino and thinking
about the shaping for my current wip. I thought it would be a Shapely
Tank, but I was wrong. It's growing up to be a big foofy "boyfriend"
sort of sweater. I want a v-neck on it, with drop sleeves, so not
much shaping to do. BUT, I have a fair number of stitches to decrease
away for the neck shaping if I want a neckline edging identical to the
welt and I may not have enough vertical space to do it in. We shall
see. This is a fast knit at 3.75spi so ripping back a bit won't kill
me.

+++++++++++++

Good morning. Nice and sunny here too. We have cooled down since our
series of days in the 90s a couple of weeks ago and now nice and sunny
means high 70s to low 80s which is fine with me.

Yesterday both sons and youngest's fiance stopped for us and we all
went to a salmon bake - meeting one of DS#2's friends there as well.
It was a neighborhood effort at Brown's Point and the lighthouse
keeper's house etc were open for touring with displays from the local
historical society.
The lighthouse still functions but without the need for a keeper as all
is automated now.

Afterwards the kids came here and made some logistical decisions for
their wedding. I am hoping for more nice and sunny weather then too as
we can easily fit a crowd in if they can expand onto the decks.
(Otherwise they will be pretty crowded.) If it is nice the kids will
stand at the edge of the top yard with Puget Sound in the background
and the guests can watch from the decks or the grass. No need then
for much in the way of other decoration!

As for knitting, I have finished the knitting on the tank I am making
for my sister (she wanted one just like mine). I just have the
finishing to do -- buttons, sewing in ends, joining the edging under
the arms etc. I am starting on the sleeves of the ladybug sweater .
My yellow summer sweater is still not done - I had better get going or
it is going to be fall first. I also have sleeves to finish on the
sweater for my colleagues baby and then must start on two for my friend
who is expecting twins. Somewhere in there DH wants another vest.
