I finally learned how to cable without a cable needle - it is so fun! I
used Grumperina's method, found here: http://www.grumperina.com/cables.htm
I've always wanted to learn this but the last time I did a cabling project,
it was a 15-stitch cable and I really didn't think that was a good one to
start on so had to wait until now. If I'd known it was so easy I may have
picked up more cabling projects in-between!

In case you're wondering what project it is that has the cables, I just cast
on for Fetching from knitty.com. I am not sure if I'm going to like
fingerless gloves but I had some yarn without a purpose so thought I'd give
them a try. We are moving next week so I'm doing lots of little
immediate-gratification projects. If a project OTN gets lost in the move,
I'd rather it be one I can quickly replicate instead of a big one that I've
spent weeks on.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

I've done this when I haven't been able to find a cable needle (worked it
out for myself) but it's clumsy and I'd far rather use a cable needle.

It works best on a 2st twist or 4st cable. Any more than moving 2 sts is
too awkard.
