I haven't been knitting for quite awhile and am drawing a blank on
following the directions for an afghan I'm knitting.

The pattern row reads like this: Row 1 (RS) K 1, *yo, k 6, (slip 2
tog as if to knit, k 1, p2sso), k 6, yo, k 1; rep from * across.

My question is do I include the final k 6, yo, k 1 in each repeat or
just the stitches from the * to the end of the ).

I hope someone can understand this and help me out before I go any
further.

Thanks in advance.

You would repeat all the sts after the *. What's in the () is just a
long explanation of a double decrease which offsets the 2 YOs in the
repeat so you end with the same number of sts you start with.

Thanks Sue.

The next row is a purl row so it won't be too lacy.

The confusion was if I should repeat everything from the * or just
that in ( ) and you've answered my question. Now I can proceed
without having to rip it out!
