Love the site, love her designs, but the cost of the Butterfly gives me
pause. I'll think about it again once I've finished the two pairs of
socks I started since then!

$10.00 for just the pattern? It would give me pause, too! It is lovely,
but that is an awful price.

Higs,
Katherine

I know...what can I say, I was on a spree (I haven't dared add up all I
bought in NS & PEI)! And it's less in U.S. dollars (only a bit,
though). Add that to the $12/skein that the Butterfly cotton cost, and
you see why I appealed for a substitute.

Hi Katherine,

I suggested this substitute before, but you might not have read my post
as it was made a few weeks after your original one:
http://tinyurl.com/mhve7

It's from Elann, and is identical to Diamond Yarns Cantata. I've used
it on several projects, and been very happy with the results. At about
$2.20 Canadian per ball, it would be considerably cheaper than the
Butterfly cotton as well.

Good luck, and it is a very nice design,
Alison
