Hi! I am new to this group and boy do I need help! I am trying to do
some tiny knitting for the first time for a doll dress. The pattern
calls for Peluche fur yarn as well as a spool of Lurex yarn. I am
having a terrible time finding this stuff. I can't even seem to find a
table that will tell me its weight (grams/yardage, etc) so I could buy
an equivalent yarn. Can anyone help me with some websites? Thank you
so much! :)

The gauge specified in the pattern will give you some idea of the
weight of yarn you're looking for.

See what the gauge is to be, and go from there, using whatever will
give you that gauge. There are no "knitting police", so do whatever
works for you! When I had small nieces with Barbie dolls, they often
asked for clothes for them, and I knit and crochet quite a few using
fingering weight yarn. The yarn had plenty of "give" so the
measurements didn't need to be precise. For skirts I made a
rectangle large enough to go around Barbie's backside and put tiny
button holes around the edge where the waist would be. Then I made a
chain of single crochet, thread it through the button holes, and
Barbie had an attached "belt" that could be tied. For shorts I added
a wee bit of width, made them a bit beyond crotch length, and just
sewed the front to the back for a few stitches for the crotch. I
never knit in the round, so there was always a (fashionable) seam up
the back, and for skirts I could leave a kick pleat. For floor-length
skirts I knit from waist to hem, increasing for more full skirts, and
added left-over metalic threads. It was always better to work with
the Barbie at hand, but rather than borrow a Barbie from a child, I
went to the Salvation Army store and bought an old one and used that
as my model. You can decorate with embroidery floss, of course. Have
fun!

Here's a site for the Peluche - http://www.swedishyarn.com/yarn_peluche.htm
There is gauge, weight and length info on the color card. For Rowan Lurex
yarn, see http://theknittinggarden.com/ro-lurexshimmer.htm Hope this helps
you.
