No I think Bernadette's would be Ok for a woman, but "my" link may be a
little too girly in the shape for a man. But if you change the "shape",
I'm sure it would be a nice sweater for a man, the pattern is OK ;-)

I've never seen a cabled crochet or knitted jumper which was shaped for a
man or a woman.
