McCall's Needlework & Crafts pattern Fall/Winter 65-66

Hi Everyone,

My sister was looking over a patter from the McCalls Needlework & Crafts magazine from the Fall/Winter 1965-66 issue. It's for an aran Isles sweater for a child. The picture is on P.49 and the Directions start on page 98. She has those, but for some reason her issue is missing Page 102 - which has the end of the pattern. My subscription started a couple of years after hers, so I'm no help. If anyone has the magazine out there and can scan or send a copy of the page, it would be very appreciated. Failing that, if anyone has any ideas on how to track it down, that too would be good.

And - speaking of my sister, she's also looking for Pinguin Pingofrance yarn in beige, brown and tan - only a ball of each to make another sweater. We've checked eBay and googled around, but have come up empty.

Thanks everyone,

Susie

I don't have that issue, but wonder if the BOOK has the pattern? I have the book, in storage, and would take an act of congress for me to dig it out right now, but IF you THINK it's in the book, I'd gander a look-see.... Welcome aboard, by the way! Noreen

My library has a lot of old McCall's Needlework & Crafts magazines. I will look for this issue when I go there sometime this week.

What was the brand yarn called for in the pattern? It might have also been issued by the yarn company in another book.

I'm not sure. I will ask her later this week (it's been one of those weeks at work!) when I talk to her.

Thanks for the welcome. I lurked for a while previously, but life keeps dragging me along, and now it's given me enough of a break, so since I've got all kinds of knitting questions, etc. to share, I have decided to participate for real.

Well, when I get a spare half-hour, I'll take a look in storage.... thankfully it's 'downstairs', not FAR away, just cold down there, and recently re-organized by my DH. I *thought* you had posted b4, Susie, but with a couple of Susie's and Sue's, it's difficult to keep track, LOL! IF I find it, and IF it's in the book, I will share what your sis is missing! Hugs, Noreen

Hello Susie, I checked the books I have to see if I had what you may need, but the only book that I have is fall and Winter 1975-76 . There is some great patterns in this one to ,but there is a couple of parts of patterns and some pages missing from my book. Part of the pattern for the buttoned poncho is missing ,(pages115-125)and pages(145-151),(193-the rest of the book) is missing. So if anyone has that one do they mind sharing those pages.

I'm glad someone found this for Susie as the oldest one I found at the library was Spring/Summer 1966.

Dear Susan:

I have been trying to track down patterns from that issue of McCall's Needlework [Fall/Winter 1965]. Would you consider sharing with me the patterns for the ski masks? Please contact me privately at snipped-for-privacy@yahoo.com so that we might figure out the best way to do this. I have tried to figure out the patterns from xeroxes of pictures and my tries haven't come anywere close. Thanks so much for conidering this. I look forward to hearing from you. Kathy

I have the magazine. I inherited some from my grandmother that are breaking down so I am scanning all of the patterns in. I haven't gotten to this one but I do have page 102.
