I'm interested in a pattern in the latest Lion Brand catalog. The name
is Casual Elegance Cardigan.
I want to order it but don't care for the cuffs and am wondering if
anyone knows if they can be eliminated or shortened. Also I'd like to
know if it's done in motifs or in one piece. I can't tell by the
picture.
It can be seen at:

Thanks to anyone who can help.

It's a $4 pattern so you won't be out much if you order it and decide
you don't want to make it for whatever reason.
Anything can be changed. IMO you'll have a shitload of ends to deal
with but you should form your own opinion after you read the pattern.

Should be easy enough just to make the cuffs much shorter and take up
the regular pattern that is on the rest of the sleeve - It isn't easy
to see from the picture how the increases for the sleeve shape are done
in the pattern. That is likely to be the part you will need to figure
out to make the change.
I agree that those cuffs are too much.

Considering it's such an 'airy' sweater, I'd think it would look perfect
with a 1" cuff of that cuff pattern, stopping at a 3/4 sleeve. Those are
really ugly the way they have them made. It seems reasonable that it
might be done in one piece, like a pineapple or shell and the lines from it
are formed, but no way to be sure. Sometimes patterns can fool you as to
what you think they will turn out like. It _seems_ like I can see the
chain lines running into the shell rows.
