Last night my husband watched some German Scientific Comptetion. One
of the questions
was if you have to dry a T shirts quickly ? would you do it in the
Micro ? Freezer or Oven ?
The Freezed one became stiff and could be broken, the one in the
micro , GOT SCORCHED Holes !!!!!! the good dry one came from the
oven,,,, This of course reminded me of our talk this week , anout old
wool ,,, Now would or could the micro scorch some of the wool as
well ?

Some T-shirt material has a proportion of polyester in it (certainly in
the UK) - wouldn't that make a difference too Mirjam? Apparently it helps
the cotton keep it's shape better.

Freezing a t-shirt could dry it (wet shirt hung on the line in
winter will freeze; when brought indoors the moisture sometimes
will sublimate out without becoming watery first) but it would
take time.

Yes, it could scorch spots in the wool while missing other spots.

The microwave doesn't heat things evenly; where the waves meet
there are hot spots, where they miss there are cold spots.
It's all right for vegetables but not good for meat because it
seems cooked yet there are places that aren't properly cooked.
That's why modern ones either have a rotating platter or a way
that (they tell me) "rotates" where the microwaves are emitted
from the walls of the machine, to try to even out the hot spots
and cook the whole thing. But it's still uneven.
