Noreen spun a FINE 'yarn':

As an aside, I've revamped the typical OS/F&F, to suit my purpose, by changing
the multiples
IE: the original pattern is

Row 1. K
Row 2. P
Row 3. (multiples of 18 (6, actually) + 2 for selvedge) K2tog-3X; YO, K!-6X;
K2tog-3X; repeat
Row 4. K

Rows 1, 2 and 4 remain the same, and I've used multiples of 4 and even 2, making
row 3 be:

K2tog-2x; YO, K1-4X; K2tog-2X; repeat (mult of 4)

or

K2tog; YO, K1-2X, K2tog; repeat (mult of 2)

And I've changed it UP, too!

Multiples of 8:

K2tog-4X; YO, K1-8X; K2tog-4X

I always play around with patterns like that!
:D
