Sciatica is a nerve pain that goes from the lower back all down the
legs to the feet. It's usually caused by a spinal nerve getting
pinched, but there's a similar form caused by a muscle clench in
the buttocks. I've read that regular stretching exercises sometimes
help, but I don't have it myself.

Glucosamine is great stuff; I take it in a blend with Chondroitin,
which works even better for me than glucosamine by itself.
