There are usually 400yds in a ball of #10 mercerized cotton. (I'm in =
America). That will be 65g per ball for you. Hope this helps!

---Bad habits are like a comfortable bed, easy to get into but hard to =
get out of.
I'm desperate!!! Not sure if I've come to the right section, could
someone please correct me if I'm wrong? I've just purchased a pattern
for a crocheted bedspread, and teh materials are "52 balls mercerised
cotton". From the hook size (no7 steel), I've worked out that it's
number 10 cotton, but am at a loss on the ball size! In Australia,
crochet cotton comes in anything from 20g to 100g balls. The pattern
is American, and I was wondering if there was a common size ball there?
Alternativly, does anyone know a ballpark figure for how much thread a
double sized bedspread would use? (ie more likely to be 1kg, 2.5 or 5?=20
or the oz equivalent!)
THANK YOU!
