That sounds like the kind of case that is sold for sets of drill bits.
Maybe you could carry some hooks to the hardware or home supplies store and
test to see whether they fit a drill case; if they do, buy the case and give
the drills to somebody.

Back when steel dpns were sold in wooden tubes, there were some wooden tubes
made shorter to hold crochet hooks, which were often shorter then. The tubes
show up on ebay fairly often if you search for antique or vintage knitting
needles, and they're usually fairly cheap.

Hello Kelly and welcome. I am Bernadette and I live on the east coast of
Scotland.
My son lives near Houston and works in the oil industry. He also crochets
and is planning to make some more doilies and mats for his new home.
However, he WILL not knit! :-)
