I'm looking on advice for how to do the colors changes on the shawl in the
Fall 06 issue - #5.
I'm well read on the various techniques but not very confident about knowing
when to use each approach.

The pattern has small vertical strips of a pattern of flowers with a lace
pattern in a single color in between..

Would you carry the yarn vertically thru the whole length OR would you
cut/join each color (using bobbins) for each pattern piece? Some colors
changes are only 4 stitches.

For the lace panels: Do I carry the main color horizontally across the back
of the pattern or use separate balls/bobbins for each lace panel?

Since the back will potentially be seen (it is a shawl), I was thinking
weaving the colors vertically/horizontally might look better????

Thanks for your opinion!
