I ordered 6 skeins in 3 different colors and should get them by Sat. I was
wondering if any here have used this for socks and what you thought. I like
Lambs Pride for hats. I started a pair of socks using Opal and didn't like
how it felt....not much give or spring so I hope the wildfoote will feel
better on the needles.

I am using it with size one double points and it has a pretty hard
twist and seems like it will hold up well. The fabric is firmer than
the sock yarn I used last and not as soft. DH is please with it so
far, however, and he is the one who will wear the socks. (I am not
done with one yet so he hasn't had it one on his foot to try. ) It
seems to be of even quality without any noticeable flaws in the yarn
that I have noticed - not always true of some of the other kinds.

Wildfoote is made by Brown Sheep. I actually got mine on eBay but I
suspect many places that carry Brown Sheep would carry this. I know
www.allegroyarns.com does.
I think the color combination I got is called cadet. It is a dark
blue/khaki twist that appealed to my DH. I got a good deal on it -
although I don't think even at full price it is particularly high
priced - Allegro sells it for $5.50 for a 50 gram skein. I will
easily get a pair for DH out of two of those as I have plenty left of
the first and have finished the gusset. DH has fairly small feet but
I think I could get a pair for one of the boys out of 2 as well. (They
wear about size 11 shoes.)
DH is following my progress closely. He likes how they look at this
point.
