Hard to believe it's 38 years ago today....
I was a little over a month shy of 12 years old, and I remember it like
yesterday....

It was a year before I went into the service, I was 16. It almost
stopped me from volunteering until I talked to my lifer brother in the
Navy. It is a very sad time in life. I used to blame the soldiers
until I got a little taste of what it was like. They were not trained
to handle the job assigned. Yes, some times soldiers have to take on
jobs with out training. NOT AT THE RISK OF OUR CHILDREN'S LIVES.

The person that issued the order for armed military instead of police
trained to handle that type of situation should still be in prison if
they are alive.

Noreen, I know you and Navy think pretty close to the same. I mean no
insinuations toward you. It is still a boiling point for me, a very sad
and easily preventable atrocity. All they had to do was assign people
that were properly trained, they were easily available.

Hugs & God bless,
Dennis & Gail

Spike Driver. . .

It's a sore point with me, and NAVY 'thinks' I was too young to form an
opinion, but when you grow up in Chicago in THAT era, well, you know.
PS, I think that particular moron should still be in prison, too!

Hugs,
Noreen
