Mom just got a new tote, it's a wheeled type tote (like what Beau got
me for all my dog show supplies for winning his first Best in Show--
that was our prize with the big ribbon). I was going to get one as
well since it holds yarn for a big project, needles, patterns, and
other sundries. I didn't like the colors it came in (puky pink or puky
green) so I passed.

I have 3 totes I like, but don't really use for some reason. One is a
"teacher's tote" with a large project area, plus a zippered side for
patterns, and an open pocket for needles, scissors, etc. It's for art
teachers and the like, so the pencil/paintbrush holders are perfect for
needles. The second is a regular zippered beach tote. One small
pocket inside the main compartment. For this one I use a pencil box to
hold my stitch markers, etc. The last, but usually favorite, is my
bookbag from college. It's just a regular bookbag, so it has the
convenience of a top grab handle, two shoulder carry handles, a roomy
main compartment for yarn and projects, a smaller compartment for
phone, patterns, etc. and a small slot pocket on the front for very
tiny but needed often things. Then, of course, is my
not-used-very-often purse (only used in the summer when I'm not wearing
a coat) that is good for small take-along projects.

Anyone else have any favorites?

I use an electricians' tote: just a big square canvas bag with all the
pockets on the outside. The main compartment is large enough for my
organizer and wallet plus whatever I'm knitting. The pockets give me
places to stash my phone, PDA, pens/pencils, eyeglasses case, a tape
measure, some knitting needles, and whatever else I may decide to haul
out with me.

I like these bags so well that when I found htem on sale at the cheap
Chinese tool store last month I bought their entire stock. I'll give
some as gifts but I'm keeping three for myself.

By the way... I thought I had fixed the username and address before I posted
a response to Lori earlier. Turned out I had only done it for the annex
news account. *tsk* That will teach me to read everything that I am doing
on a computer. ;o) Anyway, it IS fixed now!

I have a lovely tote bag, made up by Nora and Noreen from the group, it is
huge and stores all my most precious yarns safely for me.. and everytime I
go to it I think of everyone of our friends on rcty.

I made loads od storage bags from old cloth ,,, Yesterday i went
through my summer clothes [you know repairs etc,,,] and found out tat
one skirt, isn`t fit to be worn anymore . The hooks i used , somehow
rusted, the cut wan`t ME anymore ,,,,,,, But i was quite pleased with
this, the cloth being a nice soft Jeans, printed with a `patchwork` ,
of some squares and flowers , will make a WONDERFUL New bag ,,,, Just
the kind i need, Neat to look at... I will open the skirt and make the
bag, i will see if it needs to be made double or if i can use it as is
. I was just thinking i needed another Cloth bag , and since my
clothes becaome more and Jeansy , it`s just what i need.
Yesterday found that one , ready made Jeans shirts had it`s button
holes sort of frayed,,, Thus i [hand] embroidered them with pink
molinee thread. Than appliques a little [ready made] pink rose on each
edge of the collar, and on the pockets` flaps, than aded a big pink
applique flower on the back over my Machine monogramed M , i like the
result after i finnish all button holes today i will see if i need
anything else ..... i am pondering ??? i have this cloth , off white
background , with mainly pink flowers leaves and all, but also blue
berries amongst the flowers.... Maybe now i will be able to wear this
Jeans shirt with that cloth meant to become a skirt or Jumper dress ?
