Does anyone keep a knitting journal--a notebook with photos of completed
projects with notes, etc? I was thinking of keeping one, especially since
I've been doing so much yarn dyeing. I wanted to write down my yarn dye
recipes, put pictures in and notes about the project and samples of the
yarns used. Anyone else out there do this?

I just started my first page today. Knitting socks successfully
requires either doing two at the same time or keeping notes about the
first one. Plus, with a yarn sample, photograph and label, I should be
able to answer any questions that a gift recipient might have. And,
if I wanted to, I could make another pair just like the first.

I found this blog with pdf's of sample pages. I bought cardstock and
a loose leaf binder, plus plastic sheet covers, to start getting more
organized.

Very nice, Joan. Thanks for pointing it out.

I kept one years ago, long before the internet. I've sought and found a few
things in it--mainly a hat pattern (because I can't seem to hold onto my hat
for more than 2 years), and something my sister wanted (can't remember
what). I think I don't use it more because aside from socks, I never want to
knit the same thing twice. I still keep the patterns, with notes, in my
knitting bag, or on my computer, but I don't love filing...
