This is crossposted, with permission, from a dog group I'm on (for Irish
Water Spaniel lovers). It seems like a great way to use up non-spinable
bits of fiber:

When I was at the Canfield shows, there was a booth that sold wool toys
for dogs. I bought a tug ring for Ariel and she loves it. You can put
these toys in the washer and they come out like new. The same vendor
was at the Cleveland shows and I bought a small ball (2.5 inch) and
another tug type toy. Ariel loves the ball even though it didn't come
with a squeaker inside. I searched the internet for this vendor but
can't seem to find her but did find this site and they sell wool balls
for dogs and cats. I ordered the 3 inch. Conall is not interested and
Darby only liked one of the toys so they may not be for every IWS.
